Sportsmaster 512

Post by KEITHTOTTY »

I have a Sportsmaster 512 that my Dad bought right after WWII, 3 letter code of "ARR".
I would like to know when this gun was made and also I can not find any numbers on the
barrel that resemble a serial number. The only number I can find on the gun is right above the stock on the right side of the barrel, number 16. Is this the serial number?

If the Sportsmaster you're talking about is a .22cal. I don't believe they started putting patent numbers on them until about 1906. I have a 510 Targetmaster and it doesn't have a patent date. I hope this is of some help.

Your 512 was made March 1946. It was made before serial no. were required to be put on 22 rifles. Sorry for the delay. I just realized you sent me a private message with this question.
