Definitely looks like a 1900 to me. No grade, just the usual, basic “KD” with Damascus barrels. The “K” should have Remington steel barrels. A “KE” or “KED” would have automatic ejectors.

REVISED TO ADD: the shaft of the actuator rod for the extractor appears to be split. If so, and if the extractor is also split, it should have auto ejectors. Then it’s a “KED”. Need more photos to be sure.

Your 1900 left the factory in early 1902. It is a KED model as the actuator rod is split. A non ejector model would have a solid rod.

The S/N for a 1900 starts with 3 while a 1894 starts with 1.

Very nice condition.

The 43 and 46 stamped on the lug indicate choke. A leading 3 is assumed so 343/511= ~67% and 346/511=~68%. Both barrels are IM choke. As I recall Remington used a charge of 511 #8 pellets (1 1/4 oz) fired at a 30" circle at 40 yards.

Your gun is a Model 1900 KED-Grade. A very nice example.

The Model 1900 in K-Grade, Remington Steel barrels and plain extractor was introduced with an insert included in some 1899 Remington Arms Co. catalogs. To date a 1900 Remington Arms Co. catalog hasn't surfaced. In the first 1901 Remington Arms Co. catalog the K-Grade was shown on page 7 --

On page 6 the KED-Grade, two-stripe Damascus barrels and automatic ejectors, was said would be ready for delivery about July 1, 1901 --

Those remained the grades offered through 1902. The 1903-04 Remington Arms Co. catalog added the KD-Grade, two-stripe Damascus barrels and plain extractor --

Finally, the line was filled out with the KE-Grade, Remington Steel barrels and automatic ejectors in the first 1906 Remington Arms Co. catalog --
