rear sight M760

I have a question about the elevators on the early rear sight after the dove tail, and not the later sight with the hash mark increments on the base. On the ladder there are numbers stamped on them... is there any information on these ladders? The pic below is just showing what am talking about, it's the ladder not the later base with the hash mark increments.

I know there were different heights but I don't think I've ever seen seen a chart of the differences. My guess is that they were matched to either the front sight height, or cartridge, or both.
