Remington 7400 Military Issue?

Post by charlie0 »

Hello, first time poster...

I acquired a Model 7400 chambered in .35 Whelen with military cartouches. I'm stumped as I'm not aware of the 7400 being used by any branch of military. Was someone playing with stamps or is this legit? Any insight?

I'm thinking this not military but a rifle that had to go thru a proofhouse for a civilian. I'm getting a Spanish vibe but do not know for sure. It's not uncommon to find American firearms with foreign proofs. US soldiers can order firearms but the firearms must pass thru a proofhouse for testing and to ensure criteria are met.

Hi Charlie,

You would probably get a better response if you moved this out of the handgun section to the rifle section.

Good luck, and Merry Christmas,
Daniel
