Model 700 7MM REM. MAG Manufacture Date?

I have received a 7MM REM MAG and curious of the manufacture date. I have scoured the Remington internet pages and continue to get the code where the letters B L A C K P O W D E R X represents the month and the the next letter represents the year. My serial number is A6898633. Any help is appreciated.

Well your barrel code is not clicking. Judging from your serial no. your gun was probably made in the late 70s. Thats just a guess compared to some of mine. If true I am going to say your has cut checkering and not impressed checkering. If its a BDL model you will have a wide black forend with a yellowish gold spacers between the forend and pistol grip cap where it meets the wood. The barrel code may not be stamped clear enough or it may be stamped just under the stock. A picture would answere a lot of questions if at all possible.

Yes it has a yellowish white thin band between the end of the wood stock and the recoil pad. and it appears to be cut checkering as well.
