Remington model 12 .22 pump

Post by jwmtx »

Greetings everone. I recently started a collection of .22 Cal. pumps and levers. I am in the process of disassembly, cleaning, oiling, etc. I've done six so far but have got stumped on this model 12. When I attach the trigger guard to the stock I don't have the strength to compress the spring to attach the hammer. I was wondering if by assembling the reciever first and then attaching the stock might be a better way. That's not how I disassembled it but might work better for reassembly. I have a parts diagram but does not show detailed reassembly. I haven't needed it on the others but for some reason my brain isn't working right on this one. I guess I'm just old and confussed. I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks James

Well it sounds like you took it apart alot further then I ever have, so I wont be much help. I would suggest trying it to see if it works. Just be careful installing the stock that you dont crack or chip it.

You're on the right track. Assemble the receiver first.
