Early Model 8 Forearm - Photos Added

I have only seen similar instances in pictures myself. While I have owned many 8/81's, none have come with a bevel or chamfer like yours. My honest opinion is that the ones I have seen are ones that have broken off for whatever reason and then been touched up with sand paper, stain, and oil or clear coat. I don't think they came from Remington that way, but I have nothing other than my opinion on that for what it is worth. There is no reason for it to be there and would just be an added step in the process for Remington with no added return. But, again, just my opinion. Surprised no one else has chimed in as there are a lot of 8/81 owners that frequent this forum.
