I recently acquired a Remington Rolling Block in a 7mm and am trying to find out any information out there on this model of rifle.
I do not plan in firing this rifle so I don't need any info on modern day 7mm cartridge and if it will fire. Photos attached of only markings on rifle.
Thank you

Re: Remington Rolling Block in 7mm
There is no serial number unless it is on the inside of the receiver or under the stock somewhere?

Re: Remington Rolling Block in 7mm
Hi. I have two of these RB's in 7mm, both 1901, and neither has a serial #. I don't think they were serialized but I really haven't spent much time researching it. From what I did find it seems Remington screwed up making these and had bookoo unsold to the military market and they were sold as forager guns to Canada (?) and maybe to France in WWI as rear area guard duty guns. I can't swear to that but that's pretty much what I could find.

Thanks for your response Mr. Farley! Very interesting information on the history of this RB in 7mm.
On a side note, have you ever striped the RB down for a thorough cleaning? Any issues I should be aware of in taking this old RB apart and putting back together? Or, should I just leave as is?
Thanks
