Sorry for any repitition here - I am new to the forum and to firearms generally. I apologise for any incomplete information or incorrect nomenclature.
My father has asked me to research a Remington rifle that he has recently acquired in the UK. He is not computer literate so leaves these things to me. He is, however a great firearms enthusiast (particularly late 19th, early 20th century US manufacturers). I will pass on any responses direct to him.
The rifle is a .22 pump and states "Pedersen patent, Jan 5 1909". It has an octagonal barrel and peep (tang?) sights.
My research (on this forum amongst other places) tells me that it is a Model 12 and probably a "c" variant because of the barrel shape and the .22 long/short specification.
Its serial number is 77317. I beleive this might date it 1913.
I would be very grateful if someone could provide any additional info and confirm (or otherwise) its age. I am interested to know if the sights may mean it is a model c "NRA".
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Re: Help with Model 12
Your serial # indicates 1911 production. The NRA version is stamped as such on the top of the barrel. It also does not have a dovetail cut into the barrel for a rear sight. According to factory records, the "NRA" was not introduced until October 1917.
