1100 problems
1100 problems
Hello, I'm new to this site and thought I would ask you learned gentlemen about a problem I am having with my 1100 before I sent it to the factory. I have an 1100 I believe to be made around 1974 (I bought it used a few years ago). Today, while shooting sporting clays, the gun jammed and the bolt would not close. The problem wasn't apparent at first and a little jiggling got it to close. Then a few shots later, a part labled the "interceptor latch" in the owner's manual came out. After that, the gun continued to function, at least at firing one shell at a time, which was all I was doing. Upon closer examination later it looked like that part rotated on a stud that was welded to the inside of the receiver. That stud was gone. Has anybody else experienced a problem like this? I assume it would have to go back to the factory for repair. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Re: 1100 problems
In 45 years of 1100s, that is a first in my experience. I would definitely say that one is a factory or very good gunsmith job. For info, I shipped two double barrel shotguns yesterday; average cost was $28.75. P.O. has gone up again, too.
What could have happened... did.
