New member, (English), with an 1858 !

Hello,
I am in Southampton U K.
i have just purchased a Remington 1858 revolver, and would appreciate some help in establishing it's age, and possibly history.
The serial numbers under the barrel, and on the frame match, as does the abbreviated number on the trigger guard.
Serial Number :- 135044., trigger guard :- 35044.
