Remington 141 Drilled for Scope Question??

Hi Guys, I'm looking at a 141 to use as a shooter. It has Weaver bases installed but the front one has been postioned over the front of the receiver instead of the rear of the barrel. Any problems associated with this position? Just wondering because this is where the bolt locks. Thanks!

Mine has a Pachmyer swing away bas that mounts completely on the receiver. As long as the screws don't protrude into the receiver, I don't think there's a problem. Lots were done this way.
