Remington model 582
My Model 582 has been modified with a new Parker Hale rearsight and new bolt. What did the original sight look like and was there somewhere to mount a scope?

I have not looked at mine in a while< but I believe there should be a groove across the top of the action for a scope. As for the rear sight there should be a plastic rib or shroud that was mounted just in front of the action on the top of the barrel. If you want to get it back to original I believe I have several of the plastic ribs. The stock may have been notched to accomidate the aftermarket rear sight.

If its not too much trouble I would love to see a picture of what it should look like. The stock is fine, I have stripped off the varnish and re-olied it, it has come up a treat. A local gunsmith took off all the chipped paint and has blued the barrel and the action, it look really good.
