Parts source?

Post by chucha »

Anybody have info as to a source for a follower and follower spring for a Model 81 in .300 Savage? Numrich is out of stock. Bob's has a spring, but no follower.
I am hot on the trail, but it is a cold one!
thanks,
cha :D

The Remington site has a list of obsolete dealers. http://www.remington.com/support/parts/obsolete.htm

Remingtongeo - Thanks, I am working on the list. But, you know gunsmiths never, ever, throw away a part. I was/am hoping that somebody will dig around in a cigar box and come up with the "right stuff". The "old boy" network, eh?
I am new to the RSA, and this site. If I can't get the exact info, I am very happy to get a shove in the right direction and then do my own time-consuming "looking-up".

thanks,
cha :D

Have a spring coming from Bob's Gun Shop. Still trying to track down a follower. Poperts has a magazine assembly listed but he is hard to get ahold of, phone and e-mails don't get a response so far.
Might wind up swapping out the follower from the Model 8 into the Model 81 back and forth.
I can see it now, out of the cabin, into the bush, time to load up and get ready for anything. Curses, the follower is in the other rifle! Back to cabin, chased by bears throwing porkypines, Bambi and his gang goosing me along. I better fill the pack with candy bars and baloney sandwiches in case I have to bribe my way out!

taa, cs
