New here and collecting

Post by mkcj »

When I was 16 I got summer job with the ok from mom and dad I could buy a gun with part of the money I saved so I looked in the hunting magizines and remington came out with a new old cal. the 7mm express so i went and ordered one. When mine came it was the first one Big 5 sporting goods got in long story short I sold it 4 years later. Now I have the $ and am trying to collect all the models and variations that came in "7mm express". This is a great site glad I found it and any help with my search is greatly welcome.....Mark

I collect 700s, 600, 660s Models 12, 24, 16s. Pretty much the guns that have alredy been talked about are the ones Remington chambered in the 7mm express. If you want to get all of them there is even one called the 7mm-06. Which is another stamping.(280 Rem, 7mm Express and 7mm-06).

Yes they were in the 700s around 1978. I have only seen them in BDLs. That doesnt meen they didnt make ADLs. I have only seen very few ADLs in the 7mm Express.

It maybe your lucky day. I found some things I feel I may not be able to live without. I can offer you the 700 ADL and BDL 7mm express as a package. Both guns are new in the box, and both guns are the actuall guns that are pictured in John Lacys book "THE REMINGTON 700". Page 180 and 182. My paper work on how many were made in what caliber only goes up to 1968, but I will be leaving for New York to go to the Remington plant the beggining of July and I will be more then happy to dig up all I can on the 7mm Express.

Remington600,

I stumbled onto this thread when searching on the 7mm Exp. Rem. and was wondering if you were able to find out any information on this subject?
I happen to have a 7mm Exp in BDL that was made in Jan. of 1980 (that I acquired about 18 years ago). I also have a friend who has had an ADL version that he got in the late '70's.

The only complaint I've had with mine is that it seems to be a little "short-throated" and I have to be careful with how far out I seat the bullets. Other than that, it's got a beautiful piece of wood in it and shoots good. :)
