Mike, You have auxiliary rifle barrel made by Remington. I have two such barrels one in a Model 1882 ten gauge the other 1889 twelve ga. that one is a38-55 the 1882 is stamp 40-2 1/2 if I remember right = 40-70 sharps straight. There are some good pictures in Remington Double shotguns by Charles Semmer. The 10 stamp on your barrel is for10 ga. Jake
