Looking for an explaination of 40X numbers

I picked up a very handsome 40X .22 with WRM8 on the barrel. I can't find that code anywhere. I'd like to know how old it, if there's anything special about it... Anyone share a guess?

Looking at the date codes located on the "Home Page" of this site, your WRM8 looks like:

R = Nov.
M = 1965
The 40-X was the precision grade rifle. More care was given to its manufacture and fitting. In my book that makes it special.
