I am no expert on 700s but you have been waiting long enough for a reply. I know of no 700 that was ever offered with a straight stock and would therefore assume that it is not factory. As I say, I am no expert on them and could be wrong.......tom

Sounds like a 700 "Classic" to me.
Look them up and see if that's what you've got.
