I need HELP!!!
I need HELP!!!
A very good friend of mine who recently passed away was a member of the Remington Society. He was an avid collector of old Remington firearms, mostly pre 1900 doubles. His widow has asked me what to do with his collection. I believe selling it to a local gun shop would prove to be a huge loss. Many of these firearms are fairly rare and belong in a collection, not sitting in a gun shop rack for $300. I know my friend has information tags on almost every firearm. I can not remember if that includes value or purchase price. I just don't want her to get taken. I am not sure on the exact number of Remington firearms or parts but I would guess there are over 50 pre 1900 doubles. Then there are many other doubles and firearms. Does anyone have a suggestion for me on how to handle this? I have thought about contacting Devine to get their opinion. Last night I remembered my friend talking about this society and thought I would see what you have to say. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
Re: I need HELP!!!
There are different ways you can sell, the main thing is you get a fair price for the guns. You won't get it at gun shop.I belong to the R.S.A. and collect all Models of Remington Doubles if I can help in any way. Also I would be interested in buying any Grades I don't have.
Re: I need HELP!!!
2shooter, thanks for the reply! I may be asking a fair amount of questions. If my memory serves me correctly he had pretty much 1 of everything. I think there was 1 he was still searching for.

Re: I need HELP!!!
I am looking for a good quality Model 89 SxS and would be willing to pay a fair price, certainly more than a gun shop that would want to make 100% or better profit. Not sure how you want to go with this collection, but just thought I would throw that out.
