Hi
I have a Mod 14 carbine in .32 cal. w/thumbnail safety ser. # 60144, the mechanics & bore are V.G. to excellent, finish is original but faded, wood is excellent but someone put varnish on it. I'm looking for info on age and value, if it's collectible, how many were made.... I also have about a doz. rounds for it, how can I get more?
Remington Mod 14 .32 cal.
Re: Remington Mod 14 .32 cal.
I know Reeds has 32 Remington listed. A few other second tier ammo makers most likely loads it too. Some may reform 30 Remington brass and then load it. Something that you can do too if you're into reloading.
Re: Remington Mod 14 .32 cal.
Lefty is right in that Reed's makes ammunition for your rifle out of reformed new .30 Remington brass but they also sell it utilizing pointed bullets which are just fine for the Model 8 but will jam up your Model 14. Buffalo Arms sells .32 Remington usings reformed new .30 Remington brass but uses RN Bullets of the proper diameter. I don't know whether Buffalo or Reed's for that matter have inventory but give them a call or in the case of the former you can order directly through their website.
Right now all brass is hard to find but please avoid pointed bullets, these rifles were not designed for them. As far as value is concerned, condition is everything and they will run anywhere from $450-2,000 depending on condition and I sure wouldn't worry about the stock being refinished. They are great little guns and nice carbines are hard to find.

Re: Remington Mod 14 .32 cal.
Thank's for the info, Reeds & Buffalo are both out stock . I don't know much about the rifle, as it was given to me about 20 years ago. I was cleaning the stuff in my safe and thought I would try to find some info on it. The guy that gave it to me said he has taken many deer with it. It looks like such a well built gun and I like how compact it is. There seems to be a lot of interest in the Mod. 14, can't wait to shoot it.
Thanks again for the info.

Skeeter!
Most Model 14 guys know this but I thought I would pass it on to you since the gun/caliber is new to you.
The .32 Remington cartridge is a "rimless" version of the .32 Winchester Special. It can be loaded using .32 Winchester Special dies and a shell holder for the .32 Remington. You can use bullet/powder recommendations from any loading manual that has info on the .32 Winchester Special. THE CARTRIDGES ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE!
A further note is that the .25 Remington is a rimless 25-25 and the .30 Remington is a rimless 30-30. All are on the same case, just different neck size.
Glad I could be of help, we do maintain a data base on the Model 14 headed up by my friend Tom Hemphill. If you could at least provide the serial, caliber, if it has a straight carbine stock (no pistol grip) and the style of buttplate we would appreciate it.
If you don't want to post it.......send me an email at:

We don't put names or anything else with the info.
Thanks!

Re: Remington Mod 14 .32 cal.
I found 100 30 Remington brass cases at Huntington Die recently, they had them listed for a day on their new website (don't know if it was a mistake or not). I ordered them and waited and waited for shipping notice. Had to email them and they dug around and found 100 and shipped them. You might be able to contact Huntington and see if they have a few cases in 32 Rem. that they aren't listing. OBTW, can't find any RN bullets in stock anywhere in 30 cal, you might get lucky with 32 cal.
