I won't be much help and won't try to judge whether you should use the Dominion ammo you have. Are they factory loads? Is the gun a M/14 or M/141? Is it sound?

I don't think any of the big three are producing 30 Rem ammo. I still see it at gun shows though.

My dad hunted whitetails in Northern Michigan with a M/14 in 30 Rem. We didn't buy much beef before Christmas...

John's response pretty much nailed it but Dominion/CIL made .30 Remington stuff up into the late 70's, if it is factory round nose ammunition, is clean, and has been stored properly it should be fine to use. From our remote point of view we have no way of telling if it meets all that criteria.

There is no one currently making factory ammunition but Remington is still making .30 Remington Brass and some "semi-factory" ammunition can be obtained from a number of sources, my preferred one is Buffalo Arms. At least one of the other sources uses both pointed & round nose bullets which work fine in a Model 8 or 81 but ONLY the round nose version should be used in the Model 14 or 141.

The .30 Remington is identical in every respect to the 30-30 Winchester EXCEPT it is rimless...........which is a very big exception but the loadings are the same.

Hope this info is helpful.
