Hi!

The topcoat used was a clear nitrocellulose based lacquer, Duponts TM for it was "Duco". That's the easy part, you will see stocks in a variety of colors ranging from honey colored to Hickory/red. If the fore end hasn't been messed with I would "suggest" you match the stock to it.
