Remington Model 32

Post by uplandhunter333 »

Hi All:
I have a beautiful Remington Model 32 Skeet with five barrels; two 12 ga. Remington barrels, 26 and 28 inch and three Simmons barrels; 20, 28 and .410.

Question: Since I also shoot trap as well as skeet, if I purchase barrels for trap; modified and full, will I need to have the barrels fitted by a gunsmith or will the barrels fit without professional fitting. Will Krieghoff Model 32 barrels fit without gunsmithing?

Also, where does anyone know can I find such barrels new or used?

Thanks much,

Any barrels you find will require fitting, unless you are really lucky. The Kreighoff barrels should fit, but still will require fitting. Bigger issue may be that the stock will not high enough to provide the vertical lead which is built into the normal trap gun

Although R-32 barrels appear to be machine made and largely interchangable, I recently found a set of R-32 barrels that were not even close to fitting my early R-32. I passed on the purchase. However, I have seen some success in fitting Krieghoff barrels to Remingtons although I have not done that myself. Most K barrels sell for more than most Remington guns. No, I don't have any idea where you would find Remington 32 Trap barrels to fit to your gun. Maybe Simmons still has a few sets left from old stock. They were very nice barrels, although they don't add to the value of a collector gun.
