700 Carbine? ---Not According to Lacy's Book

Post by Yellowhouse »

Came into an ADL carbine, .243, with 20 in barrel of course with a serial of 160xxx, which dates it to 1965. According to Lacy, they stopped carbines in 1964. Pretty sure this is not a re-barrel. Wondering if this compliments the old adage of never say never and there are always overlaps. Anyone else seen a carbine dated to 1965?

Also, I have a first year (1965) BDL in 22/250 that has the square cutout in the rear part of the receiver.

Yes, they could be ordered form the factory that way.

I had the second&third digits juxtaposed. It's 106xxx not 160xxx so its about a 64 gun.

Sorry!
