I understand from my research so far the Model Six was offered in at least 4 grades:
Standard
D Peerless Grade
F Premier Grade
F Premier Grade w/ gold inlay
I understand some? all? of this model included a replica brass case head medallion inset into the bottom of the receiver forward of the magazine well identifying the chambering of the individual rifle. My question is, were any Model Six's manufactured without this case head medallion feature?

Without seeing your particular rifle, it would be hard to make the right answer for your question.
All of the ones that I have encountered had the head stamp in the reciever. Mine has a head stamp in the reciever.
However, the one that I own was probably the cheapest model that they made. Reason I say this is because the stock was so crapy, I bought my dad's origional 1972 760 ADL and took the forearm and stock off and switched them and put a brand new - N.O.S. stock on his and restored it back to origional.
The accuracy of mine was less than that of any 760 Gamemaster that I ever owned and I have owned a bunch of them.
If you had the book of all the models, you would know which one that you own. But a Model 6 is not a collectors item as of 2007. Maybe in 20 years when there are not as many of them around, they might be. But not right now.
Thanks for the replies. We've got a seller advertising a model Six on the site, says it has no case head medallion. Now he could be unfamiliar with the model or perhaps the medallion has been separated from the receiver somewhere along the way. Just doing a little due diligence with you good folks to see if it's possible one of these got made without the medallion. Any insight or help appreciated.
