Hi All, I was just curious about a model 14 in 35 Remington that I own. It was made in 1920 and is almost in new condition. I have had a few 14's over the years but this one is different. It seems that 1919 was the last year for the wheel sight. This one has the stepped elevator rear sight but still has the waffle pattern on the front top of the receiver. It also has the cartridge head on the side without the latter hole in it. What I have not seen before though is that the buttplate is smooth steel except for the UMC stamp but it has a dogleg on it but instead of having it on the bottom like later 14's it has the dogleg on top of the stock.All I have seen on other 14's is the shotgun style buttplate or the serrated later buttplates with the dogleg on the bottom of the stock. Also, rifle is marked 14A and still has serial numbers on the bottom. Gun is all original, still has grease in the action and bore is pristine. I don't plan on shooting this one but am really curious about it. I have two other nice (but not this nice) 14's that I use.
