Please help date 522 Viper...

I just aquired a Remington M522 Viper. I'm aware they have a less-than-stellar reputation, but I HAD to buy it because I didn't already have one. Is there any better reason?

Anyway, tha barrel code is messed up. It's only struck so the top left half shows. I can see the top 2/3's of the first letter which could make it a B (Jan.) or an R (Nov.). And I can see the top 1/3 of the second letter which could be an O (1994) or a Q (1996).

Can anyone help by the serial number? That's clear as can be! It's 3079049.

Any help, info, and or derogatory comments will be appreciated!

There were three times as many Vipers made in 1994 as 1996, so the odds are that it is a '94 gun. I don't know the start-end #s, so can't be sure. There were 244,082 made from '93 to '97.

I wouldn't trade one of my Model 12s for it.................
