Please help date 522 Viper...

Post by ueckhaus1 »

I just aquired a Remington M522 Viper. :? I'm aware they have a less-than-stellar reputation, but I HAD to buy it because I didn't already have one. Is there any better reason?

Anyway, tha barrel code is messed up. It's only struck so the top left half shows. I can see the top 2/3's of the first letter which could make it a B (Jan.) or an R (Nov.). And I can see the top 1/3 of the second letter which could be an O (1994) or a Q (1996).

Can anyone help by the serial number? That's clear as can be! It's 3079049.

Any help, info, and or derogatory comments will be appreciated!

THANX, Glenn

Glenn:

There were three times as many Vipers made in 1994 as 1996, so the odds are that it is a '94 gun. I don't know the start-end #s, so can't be sure. There were 244,082 made from '93 to '97.

I wouldn't trade one of my Model 12s for it.................

Thanks John!

If'n you won't trade me one of your 12s, how about a 1 1/2?

Thanks again, I appreciate your wealth of knowledge, and your willingness to share it!

You know the answer to that one........... I'd make a "your gun + $X" offer, but I'm afraid you would take it...
