Remington Model 1889 Decarbonized vs Damascus
Remington Model 1889 Decarbonized vs Damascus
I am looking for a Remington Model 1889 to shoot in SASS, Cowboy Action Shooting. We usually shoot 4-6 shotgun targets in each stage with about 6-8 stages per match. My question is, am I better off with a decarbonized steel barrel or with the Damascus barrel. I love the look and the fill of the 1889 if I am getting one it has to be a shooter. Thanks, Bo
dearbonized is lower grade then damascus. please dont saw the barrels
unless theyre already sawed. and make sure its safe and always use blackpowder. or ive heard if the barrels are in good cond. you can install chamber inserts to one gauge smaller and use regular loads, but do this at your own risk.
