I bought a 10C without a magazine. I thought I had it on good authority that magazines marked for the model 77 would function in a 10 C, so I bought a 5 round from Numrich and a 10 round from an online auction.
Today I tried to fire the rifle and got poor results with both mags.
Both magazines seem to be all plastic; I can't imagine Remington making the original mags that way, did they?
Should I pay the outrageous price for a mag labeled 10C ?
Is there any place to get a genuine Remington mag?

Henry:
The factory clips are plastic. I am not familiar with any aftermarket clips, but they are probably out there. I looked at one of mine (factory) and it is marked 10-C on the side of the mag, near the top. It is not stamped Remington anywhere. The N/77 are the same except they hold 5 rounds. They should work without any problems.
Be sure the chamber is clean and the mags seat firmly. Try loading the mags with one round less than the advertised capacity. I don't have any other advise.

I ordered several of the 10 round magazines listed for the 10C for my Apache 77 from www.e-gunparts.com last year, and they work fine. I think I paid around $25 each at that time. The original that came with my rifle is missing the little metal squared off C shaped clip from the top.
