Can anyone tell me when the Remington model 7 SS synthetic(standard model) was first made? Is it possible to date a rifle? Thanks. Phil

I don't know when the 7 started using a synthetic stock, but there should be a date code on the left side of your barrel. If you go the the Remington Society home page and click on date of manufacture you will see how the code works.

I think Mod 7 in SS came into production in 1999 from the information i can find.
