Looks like REM141 got you well along with your project. I saw your queastion about the "C" prefix. The "C" stands for model 14 and was dropped after the serial number was moved to the side of the reciever. The peep sight was a special order item. The 14 never came standard with one. I also saw your question on the Marbles sight. There were many sights that could be obtained from the factory. If you want to email me a picture, I will compare it with a catalog of the same time period.
