Help Identifing Shotgun

My father bought a Remington shotgun at a yard sale the other day. I've been searching trying to identify the model and year it was made.

Here's all the information I can see on the shotgun.

I looked for the identification on the left side of the barrel but it only says "FULL". I'm assuming the left side is the side of it, had you been holding it like you were going to fire it. On the right side of the barrel it has R.P.

If has a serial number of 138629.

On top of the barrel is says: Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. Remington Works Ilion NY USA Remington Patents Oct. 9 1900 Dec. 17 1904 Sept. 30 1902 June 16 1903

On the bottom behind the trigger it has a Remington UMC emblem.

Thats all the visible marks I can see.

I'll also say the hammer is enclosed.

The stock is just plain wood.

If I need to break it down I can to get more info.

If you missread or misstyped the Dec. 17, 1904, and it is really Dec. 17, 1901, those dates relate ot J. M. Browning patents for his autoloading shotgun which Remington Arms Co. began producing in 1905. In 1911 Remington Arms Co. and Union Metalic Cartridge Co. were combined as Remington--UMC, and about that time they began calling the Autoloading Gun the Model 11.

Yes I probably missread the year, I'll blame it on the turkey induced comma I was in while coping the information off of the shotgun.

As for action, its auto loading.

oh and its a single barrel I don't think I mention that before.

I have an old Model 11 made in 1906 and it has similar markings to what you described. If you go online and Google "Remington Model 11" or "Browning Auto 5" (the design on which the Model 11 was based) you should be able to locate pictures and schematics. If you go to http://www.e-gunparts.com you should be able to view a schematic of the Browning Auto 5. Both have the same humpback design, which I think makes for a very attractive gun.
