Rem 552 lettering

I have a Remington 552 BDL (code dated PD) with the fluer-de-lis checkering on the forearm and psitol grip. What's got me puzzled is the gold lettering on the barrel and receiver. Is this anything special?

It appears that your rifle was made in Sept, 1983. I have not seen any factory applied gold washed lettering on the M/552. Yours was probably done by a previous owner.
