Have just found this forum, so this reply is about 7 months late, but here goes.
As the number implies, there were 1000 each of the skeet and trap guns made. Not sure how many ended up being sold as sets. I have the #3 set.
Pricing someone else's guns is always risky, but I would value a NIB pair at about $4500-$5000 for the pair.
matched set 3200's skeet & trap
My Dad was a Director at Remington, and they were able to buy guns with low serial numbers. Both guns are in excellent shape, but I do shoot them - in fact, I may shoot the Skeet gun tomorrow. Would like to find one of the "Live Pigeon" guns. Only about 300 made.
I shot another field style 3200 in Springer Field Trials for years. It is an interesting gun - to my knowledge, it is the only field gun produced with two sets of barrels. It was the prototype gun for the 4 barrel skeet sets. I shoot the gun better than any other gun I own

Another Remington 3200 question
I recently purchased a Remington 3200 and would like to know exactly what I have. Here is what information I have on the gun box, which I assume is original.
Remington 3200 "Special"
Break Action Shot Gun / 1991
12 gauge Vent Rib Barrel
On the sides of the receiver it in engraved in gold "Competition" surrounded by a small amount of gold engraving. The bottom of the receiver is stamped Remington 3200 OU 412XX.The barrels are 30" and stamped Full and Imp/Mod and have 2 beads. The wood is "fancy" and it is not a Montycarlo stock. One book I have says it was manufactured in 1977.
I would estimate the wood and metal to be 98-100%. Assuming that is correct, what do I have and what is your "guesstimate" as to what it might be worth. I just want to know about what I might insure it for.
Thanks for any information you might give me.
Frank

Matched unfired 3200s
Hi,
We have a pair of unfired matched 3200's we want to sell. We would like to see them go to a collector who would appreciate them as much as the owner did. We are not gun collectors so bear with us but we have learned a fair ammount thanks to Google. They belonged to my fiance's father who was a county sherriff in Adams county Ohio. They are in the original green cases. I am going to pull them out today and pull all the info I can off of them and look for the recall modification and serial numbers and post. What I am trying to find out is where to put them on sale and being a novice what do I need to know paperwork wise?
Thanks

They are in the original green cases. This is a matched set 1 of 1000 Remington 3200 Trap and Skeet. the skeet is marked T.893 the pump has a mark of TO* (then a little o shape) 3 .The trap is SK893 and the pump has a mark SK893. This is as mint a set as you will likely find from what I can figure. They have rarely been out of the case, all the tags and the manuals are there. The checkering on the wood is sharp and finish perfect. The worst I can say about them is that the Remington R on the skeet has a little of the gold in the letter either missing or light and I believe the foam in the top of the cases was replaced. otherwise they are near perfect. They have spent 99.9% of their life under a bed. I think this set would do well in a high end collectors auction.
