As the proud owner of several SxS remingtons I have noticed that they do not recieve the same stature of the other american made SxS guns in the media and gun auction sites, as they are some of the best engraved and built shot guns in my safe.Is there any other thoughts or observations on this subject.

Remington Arms Co. Doubles

Post by Researcher »

If you look at the figures produced, during the years the Remington doubles were being made, the boys at Ilion were outproducing the boys at Meriden. But, Remington saw the handwritting on the wall and dropped out of the game early on, concentrating on the more lucrative repeaters. The Remington doubles were not made in the smaller gauges that are often the darlings of collectors, and never came with the often favored options of beavertails, vent ribs, and single selective triggers. Remington did have a slew of patents for single triggers for the Model 1894 and I'm sure there are several out there with these experimental triggers but they were never a catalogue option. The Remington Model 1894s are as good as any of their contemporary American counterparts and better then many. The Joe Loy engraved higher grades leave nothing wanting in my book.
