Model 722 manufacture date conflict

My Model 722 in .222 caliber has a date code of B R which seems to me is imposible. Can anyone reconcile this issue? I bought the gun used and have owned the gun since 8/30/1967. Serial number is 3701xx.

Sure it isn't RB? Serial number puts it late '55. Are you looking at the first 2 letters of the 3 letters/digits from the recoil lug?

Behind the final inspection mark is as follows B R 12. Don't make any sense to me. I'll accept your date by the serial number as 1955. Thanks...........
