Early Sportmaster 341 model

I have inherrited a model 341 sportmaster with the stampings of  " U "  over the date code " O E " . We know it was made in July of 1936, but  what does the letter  U  above the date code mean ?  Thank You ! I am going to sell it, but I have no idea on how that's done yet. The "U" and other stamps are proof, testing, inspection stamps.
