I have a chance to buy a used mod 1100. The only info I have so far is semi-auto, 12 ga, vent rib with Remington model 1100 437125V stamped. Have not seen the gun yet, just interested in any info before driving 60 miles to see it.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dan
MOD 1100 IDENTIFICATION
Re: MOD 1100 IDENTIFICATION
Good gun. About 390,000 newer than my first one, 98,000 newer than my 3" Magnum. Probably 1967 or '68. If it has been taken care of it ought to outlive you. Ought to cycle any normal 2-3/4" loads with no sweat.
It will have a fixed choke if it is the original barrel.
If the forearm feels loose at the rear, a lot of the early forearm supports broke, and there are two newer replacement designs for less than $10.
You can find them online, like new, for $450, have seen very good for $350, but you get to see, smell, and touch this one. Worth something.
Good luck.

What could have happened... did.
