Glass bedding a 721/barrel bump ?
Glass bedding a 721/barrel bump ?
Hi RSA shooters,,,need advice on glass bedding a Model 721, .270 caliber. I have glass bedded several rifles mostly savages and my M1 garand. I notice this rifle has two areas i need to ask about. The barrel rests on elevated wood at the fore end of the stock, even if i sand this area down, it appears i would have an issue at the "barrel bump" area a few inches further in where the barrel sits in in its own channel in the stock. Its at the spot where the barrel "ring" is. You know what i mean right? Is this rifle a good candidate for bedding and if so, how do i bed around the barrel bump area? appreciate your tips...

I have glassed many rifles like that with good results. Just apply spacer tape up to the bump. Leave the bump and behind it tight bedded just like the receiver.
