Hi. I have a new 1100 G3 12 gauge. I have taken it skeet shooting three times and it works great.
Last weekend I let my son help me clean it when we got home.
He pulled the trigger when it was out of the gun. I also sanded off a few rough spots on the link.
When I reassembled the gun it wont lock to the rear.
I tinkered with it a little and now it locks 30-40% of the time.
Im guessing the hammer either broke or maybe bent something...
The carrier latch seems like it might be the problem. I can push it and it will click forward but the carrier seems to click it back and it stays stuck back there.
I dont have another one to compare it to and being in Hawaii its probably cheaper to order a new trigger assembly than ship off to a Remington service center.
Any ideas before I buy a new one?
Thanks

Yep, pulling that trigger out of the gun will bend that carrier latch. Probably why the owners manual says don't do it. Why get a whole trigger assembly, just get a carrier latch. $3.60 versus $89.65.
What could have happened... did.

well the carrier latch looks straight...there is a piece of metal from the carrier that looks like it is supposed to ride on it but it seems to come off and then stays on the side when it goes back down.
The owners manual tells you how to remove the trigger for cleaning and where to oil it.
I cant imagine never removing it for cleaning. I aways take my weapons apart for cleaning. I cleaned my dad rifle once which had never been taken apart and it was pretty filthy...It had decades of carbon and filth built up in the action.
im no expert by any means and have to reference the parts diagram and price list so I can try to name the right parts.
I have removed the trigger from my wingmaster probably hundreds of times and can pop the pins out with my fingers...this one still needs to be tapped out with tools.

Re: 1100 G3 bolt wont lock to the rear
finally figured it out. The little square on the bottom of the carrier latch wasn't catching the little bent piece of metal. A few wacks with a hammer and now everything moves freely and it catches in the correct position.
