Rem 700 BDL in 220 swift????

Post by jtbguns »

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have a Remington 700 BDL made in Nov. 1991, 24 in regular barrel in 220 swift. It appears all factory, I know they introduced the Classics in 220 swift in 1992. Anybody heard of such a rifle. I've tried Remington's factory phone number ( to run the serial number) but as of yet I have not been able to reach a human. Any other phone numbers would be helpful. Thanks for any help or info, JTBGUNS

Yes they made a lot of BDL 220 Swifts. You have the date your gun was made. What other info are you trying to get?

When were they made? From ? to ? In the Blue Book it show's no reference to a BDL in a Swift. In Remingtons dates they show it as being introduced in 1992 to Present. Barrel code is Nov. 1991 This is a wood stocked ,black tip and cap rifle not synthetic .Thanks, JTBGUNS

The 220 swift was introduced in the 700 in 1992. The same year it came out in the classic, and they still offer the 220 today. The BDL model will have the black forend and pistol grip cap.

Thanks for all help. My rifle ended up as a Classic in a BDL stock. Per Remington's serial numbers. Thanks, JTBGUNS
