Rem 722 .222 mag. QUESTION?

Post by williamaiden »

Have a Remington 722 .222 mag. Been trying to find info/value on the gun. Can't seem to find info anywhere other than it was manufactured approx.1958.
Was hoping to get some feedback. Don't have any interest in selling, just want to find out what I've got. Should I use the heck out of it, or treat as collector's item etc.

I don't think they want to try to determine "values" on firearms on the forums. Too many unknowns.....and without being able to see and inspect them, it would not be fair.
Here's a link I found when doing a search on it.

http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedi ... ton-Magnum

I checked some of my old catalogs and it was still listed in the Model 700 in the 1968 Remington catalog, but was gone by 1970.

It's primarily a handloading proposition since the loaded ammo is very scarce. The brass is (I believe) still available, but according to what I've read, could also be formed out of the .204 Ruger brass.

If it's been "used", I'd go ahead and shoot it (that's what they're made for). They're only "worth" what a person could get out of them in a sale.....assuming someone wanted to buy it.
So, I would say.....they're somewhat "rare", but probably not necessarily in high demand unless you were to find somebody who really wanted one for their collection.
