I was wondering if anyone could help me with information on a rifle i recently received as a gift. The rifle is a model 12 CS I believe. It is chambered for .22 REM Special and according to Remington was manufactured around 1918. Does anyone know how common these rifles are and their approximate value. I also got a Model 12 A (.22 lr) a Model 14 A .30 Remington. I know that many of both these guns were manufactured and Remington has provided approx dates of manufacture, but, they had no information as to the number of Model 12 CS manufactured.
thanks

I suggest you check the Blue Book of Gun Values for a valuation of your Model 12-CS. There are no records of how many CSs were made, but they are not particularly rare. My observations would estimate that 15% of the production was in Rem Special. The value is about the same as the LR (12-C).
