I would say the stocks are original.

Don't get mad at me, but I disagree! The checkering has overruns and is too course. The factory used 18 or 20 line checkering. That is not that fine. Also, the wood to metal fit is not of custom shop quality.

The MODEL "12 C.F." font is not what Remington used. Rem used a block font. The "F" was stamped with a different die. The barrel has been reblued or at least touched up after it was D & Td.

Your "M/12 CF" is a neat rifle. You should be proud to own it, but I'm quite sure the upgrades were not done at the factory.

Yes I would say the checkering is not factory either, nor your 12-CF stamping. It looks to me that the stocks are factory, but I believe they have been removed, sanded, and revarnished.

I'd like to see a straight down shot on the checkering, not the angle.
The bottom and top of the receiver and the fore stock. Oh and while your at it the butt and muzzle.
There really IS good reasons for all this, I'm not just choking your chain.
Your asked ;)

It sure looks to be a original F frame so far.

I agree Remington didn't stamp that I would also suspect they didn't engrave it. Something happened to the barrel and in the replacement/restoration (partial) process did what they thought would be best or whatever.

I can resize images in a heartbeat in fact I would like the original sizes AND I'LL MAKE THEM AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE on the gallery (if you don't mind) if you take more photo's you can email be and I'll resize and post. (also the originals of the others) Might have to split couple photo's per mail because of size.
