Model 11 Bluing / Wood Finish

I recently purchased a Model 11 S/N 1605xx. I was thinking about refinishing this piece seeing that the original bluing was worn completely off. What type of bluing and woodfinish was used originally. I would like to keep it as close to original as possible. I was told that the steel was rust blued and they used tongue oil on the wood. Is this true?
