25-35 Rem cartridge Model 8
25-35 Rem cartridge Model 8
I have a Model 8 I think made in 1908-1909 range. It is marked 25-35 Rem. My question is what is this gun and is it rare? Is it the same cartridge as 25 remington? Is it the same as the cartridge as a 25-35 Winchester. Or is this a cartridge that remington made and is only 25-35 Rem?
Re: 25-35 Rem cartridge Model 8
Eric,
Your rifle is a 25 Rem. Remington marked a few of the Model 8 25 Rem as 25-35 in their early production. The confusion with the 25-35 Winchester caused them to mark them 25 Rem. Model 8's marked 25-35 are hard to come by. If you don't mind posting the serial number, the year it was shipped from Remington can be determined. Your guess is in the ballpark.

Re: 25-35 Rem cartridge Model 8
Thanks guys, How many rifles do you guys think Remington stamped 25-35 Rem? That site says "The 1908 catalogue carries the only reference to a ".25-35 REM."" So I wonder what year they did stop the stamping of 25-35 Rem? Is it a single year only stamping?

I have seen them marked 30-30 also , But I've never seen one marked .32 Special.
