Model 8 .30Rem Dating.. PLEASE HELP

Just purchased a Remington Model 8 chambered in .30 Rem, i went to remingtons date code page but my date code reads "DXX3" which is an invalid code date, i know its not code XX = 1955 as production was stopped by then. Serial 30,XXX with "K" circled below serial. ANY information is greatly appreciated. also, any tips on cleaning the gun as to not remove orig. bluing?

Your date code should be "XX" which converts to Dec. 1929 although I admit the serial number seems a bit off the year mark. Hopefully someone else has one close that can compare with yours

wow, thanks.. thats cool, very interesting.. the gun is older than i was thinking. would normal gun oil (not bore cleaner) remove factory bluing? after cleaning the gun the bluing looks lighter, but in not sure if i may have just removed color from aging or i might just be overly paranoid. also any estimate as to the value of this gun?
