I have a woodsmaster 742, trying to figure out when it was made, having a hard time doing so, can anyone help?

Did you check out the manufacture date section on this sites homepage? If so and still no help then give more info on the gun.

Under Remington it has a 5 digit # 90988, is this the serial #? Also on the barrel it has a patent No. 2685754, on the left hand side, near the end of the barrel it has 7RJ23. It has no markings other than the forarm grip has 28 lines engraved straight up and down the forarm , it also has an aluminum butt plate, thats about it, can u tell me what it may be worth? it is in pretty good shap, thanks
