HELP PLEASE, Need Info On My Woodsmaster 742

I have a Remeington Woodsmaster Model 742, i have had it for many years, and it has been a really nice rifle. My ? is this, what is it worth? Under Remington it has a 5 digit # 90988, is this the serial #? Also on the barrel it has a patent No. 2685754, on the left hand side, near the end of the barrel it has 7RJ23. It has no markings other than the forarm grip has 28 lines engraved straight up and down the forarm , it also has an aluminum butt plate, if anyone can help me it would be great, the gun was left to me by my grandfather, i have considered selling it, just bought two new 770, 270, and 243, really don't need it. just want to know if i should hang on to it? thanks alot..

Looks to be built in November of 1962. What caliber is it in? Not a horribly sought after rifle, but in good shape it should fetch about as much as a newer year if in a desirable caliber. Is there a sliding rear site or does it have a stepped ladder piece in the center?

Thanks alot man, it's a 30-06 and it's in pretty good shape for the year model, what do u think it would be worth? should i sell it or hang on to it? again thanks for the help
