I was recently lucky enough to finally aquire a 660 in 350 Mag. I've been looking for a suitable one within my price range for many years. They obviously are not very popular in my neck of the woods. It really is a "Cream Puff", however when I pulled it out of the stock to make sure everything was in order below the stock line, I found it was missing the Delrin Tang Support. Someone must have been in there before and not replaced it, which I've read is fairly common. I found replacements at Numrich/Gun Parts but, I'm not sure if they are original factory parts. Many times when ordering from them I've received a part that they have had fabricated and is inferior to the originals. Does anyone know if they are in fact originals or know where I may find one? I'm very happy to have found this site even for the circumstance. I've been collecting for over 40 years and believe I have many fine Remingtons that warrant discussions.
Thanks,
J
Rem 660 Mag.......
Re: Rem 660 Mag.......
I wouldn't worry about it.
That is probably one of the reasons why you got the gun so cheap.

I found original tang supports for $1.70 each and bought 2 extra just in case for less than $10.00 delivered. I guess that was a great reason to get the rifle for the price I did. At least for me!

Re: Rem 660 Mag.......
Glad it worked out for you. Great rifle!!! It seems wierd that it would be missing though.

Good find. I also have one in near mint condition as I received the original box of ammo with the gun. Did you find the Tang supports at Numrich? I got myself a 600 in 222 awhile back and it had a support in it. I was a little shocked as it looked as thought this rifle had never been apart as well. I wouldn't mind a few spares myself as they seem to me to be a good idea no matter the calibre.
